Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend The Who, Paris, 1972
It was a grey day in September for this open air concert. It didn't rain on The Who but their set ended early when the electricity packed up. Although 1972 was a quiet chart year, '73 was to see the release of the amazing 'Quadrophenia', their second rock opera, set in 1964 in the time of mods and rockers. Townshend wrote every song on the double album, which went gold in both the US and UK.
