'Tommy' is the first of The Who's two full-scale rock operas. The orchestral version was released in 1972, the original album having debuted in 1969, and the film version followed in '75. There were two concert versions at the Rainbow Theatre, London, that featured The Who, plus an all-star guest cast, backed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
